Customizable clinical decision support (CDS) that deliverscare notifications without causing distraction or alert fatigue

How it works

Smart clinical care notifications

Create intelligent triggers that surface the right insights when they matter most. Physicians can set personalized notifications that analyze patient data, such as labs, diagnoses, and patient history, and receive recommendations aligned with their clinical practice and established guidelines. This ensures evidence-based care without overwhelming alerts.
How AI CDS works

Clinical decision support, without the disruption

Your personalized CDS notifications only appear when clinically relevant, without disrupting the physician's workflow. No extra clicks or blocked screens, just timely guidance that supports real-time decision-making. The result: fewer distractions, reduced alert fatigue, and more confident care at the point of need.

Population-level insights & quality measures

Beyond individual notifications, organizations gain visibility into patient populations. Custom dashboards highlight care gaps, adherence to clinical guidelines, and compliance with quality measures. Leaders can ensure consistency across providers while physicians get actionable insights for improving patient outcomes.

Care Notifications FAQ

What type of questions can turn into a CDS alert?

Practically any question because you're not limited to static rules. You can define a clinical question (or a set of indicators) and have Abstractive monitor the chart and notify you when something becomes actionable.

Example: CHF volume status and management alerts

  • Dry weight documented? Notify me if there's no dry weight on file (problem list, last discharge summary, cardiology note, or nursing documentation).
  • Above dry weight baseline? Notify me if today's weight is > X lbs/kg above last known dry weight or recent stable baseline (and show the supporting weights + dates).
  • Diuretic action taken? Notify me if the patient is above baseline weight and there's no recent loop diuretic ordered (e.g., IV/PO furosemide), or if a new Lasix order was placed (so I know the plan changed).
  • Cardiology consults? Notify me of the number of recent cardiology consults ordered within the last 3 months.
  • Echos? Notify me of the number of recent echocardiograms ordered within the last 3 months.

Can CDS alerts be customized for my specialty?

Yes. You can define alerts around the exact things you care about in your practice (cardiology, ED, hospital medicine, surgery) so the notifications are meaningful instead of noisy.

Are CDS alerts based on guidelines or patient-specific data?

Both. The alert engine is grounded in the patient's actual chart (notes, labs, meds, imaging) while staying aligned with clinical guidelines; so it's evidence-based and patient-specific.
